The above toy can be converted to a puzzle
that would require the learner to complete a writing activity after each piece
is placed.Depending on the score the learner will be directed to different areas/levels of difficulty.
The
mahjongg puzzle has the ability to be more flexible for the learner. The tiles
can be matched by type of writing genre the learner is interested or the level

easy writing instead of the challenging writing a placement test will determine
at which level the leaner has access to.
Both puzzles can be designed using any or all of the following:
Matching a poem/poet to a specific poetry type
Using images to represent different writing genres (examples sci fi, fiction, non-fiction) match the image with genre
Match famous quote to the author
